Good Morning! Today is Word Art Wednesday. When I found out that we were going to use 1 Samuel 1:27. I was very happy as I knew what I would create my ART around. This is Chace my 4th and youngest child. Those of you who know me knew I had a hard time carrying im let alone giving birth.
Chace is one of God's miracles. He came into this world not breathing and they worked and worked on him and we prayed and prayed. Finally he tookhi first breath and we rejoiced. It was a scarey 19 days in the NICU but on Mother's day 2008 he got to come home. Now, he is a ball of fire and keeps me on my toes. I truly am very blessed.

Last day of school for the week... It has been a bit of a rough week with losing our dog and still trying to get over my head cold. It is gone except I feel like I am talking thru a tunnel. LOL. I am just truly blessed to be the momma of 4 amazing kiddos. Who would have ever thought I would have ended up
having this many. There are times I wish I could have a few more. Each and everyday I am amazed with what they are learning and can't believe how time flies. I am so very lucky to be able to be home with them and be there when they need me. Ayla had her first day of internship working with the local podiatrist yesterday she had a ball they went to the Physical Therapy center in a few weeks they are going to the Cardiologist center as this is what she wants to do when she graduates. Ashley is busy playing basketball her first year and she is the Point Guard she is loving it. Jack is as happy as a lark as long as he is bringing home all A's he cannot stand to get a B or below oh, and he has a little girlfriend to boot. Then you have Chace my bundle of of Fire! He keeps me on my toes everyday and I love cuddling wit him and watching Sponge Bob.

Perfect Sentiments Challenge #15

Good Morning!
Today is Challenges # 15 over at PSC and this week all the designers have been busy making Birthday cards
but with a twist. The twist was to use some sort of resist embossing. I struggles with this for over a week. I tried using alcohol inks and pearl-ex it turned out ok but I did not like the end result. I tried using a versamark pen and embossing powder and it just was not working out. I also tried Vaseline it started to work then it dawned on me with the help of my sister i used Glossy accents over my stamped sentiment and then worked in ink all around. Finally a finished project!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Here at the Jones' household we had a 4 day weekend. The kids were out of school on Friday due to our mini snow fall. I want some big fluffy white stuff so I can get some snow pictures to use my LYB Winter Twig line. So, did any of you watch the Football games? I am so happy that the 49'ers beat out the Saints It's their turn again. However, a little upset about the

Scrapbook Challenge Sketch # 277...

Today I have for you my rendition of Scrapbook Challenges Sketch # 277. I decided to take the sketch and turn it into a card. I really love how it turned out. I choose to use ELE pattern paper in snowflakes, coffee stain, snowman and mittens. I also used Eye-Lets Etc. eyelets in round and snowflake. I used the stamps by CTMH and lots of Glimmer Mist. Inspiration Challenge...

For this layout of Chace I used the colors yellow, blue, purple and peachy/pink. The challenge was to
create a project around the new Colors of Scrapbook Challenge. I sprayed mists onto tattered angel frames in those colors of course the purple one turned out to be a bit black. I like how it turned out though.

So, today is my mom's birthday, so I wanted to make her a card and send I to her and this is what i cam up with. I actually found the card, paper and chipboard all at Wally-world for .97 cents. I beleive the stamp is a Magnolia stamp. I think she is just so cute. Any way I hope my mom has a wonderfully blessed Birthday today. Miss you Mom.

Hello Everyone! I am super excited to be part of The Perfect Sentiments Challenge blog this month. Today is my first debut as a Guest Designer.

I made this for my Sister Brandi for Christmas. I just love the way it turned out. Can you believe it is made out of flattened Toilet paper rolls. Just wanted to share a layout of the kids at Halloween this year. I used the Bella Blvd Line. I just love it. I did manage to get a few layouts completed at the 2-day crop the other weekend along with a Calendar, a 6x6 book, my Christmas cards and a framed layout for my son. So, I didn't think I did too bad. Just a super quick card made using the SEI line. I added some stickles around the edges for a little blong to set off the Diecut I used and some of my favorite ribbon. I did this as part of the Perfect Sentiment Challenge this week. Use a Holiday sentiment and add some bling for a twist.

I just wanted to tell you how much I loved this assignment of using Border Punches. However I only own one to my name but I just Love it. When I chose my picture for this project of my children I knew that using Echo Park's Playground Line would go perfect. I noticed that it even had a border sticker that mimicked my border punch. It really is hard to believe that this is Jack's last year

in elementary school. Next year is Middle school for him.

While most children have just gone back to school. We on the other

hand have already taken school pictures and have gotten them back already.

We are just finishing up our first 9 weeks and I am happy to say that Jack has

out done himself again with straight A's.

This Layout is of my sister Brandi and I in about 1976.

Although I Have two daughters, I don't get to scrap many girlie layouts because

they dont like to get there pictures taken as much since they are getting older.

So, I was happy to scrap this one of us. We were so close when we were little then in our teen years

we started to drift apart then we got married and had children. Now, we live a few hundred miles away

and I miss her terribly.

Mac-n- Chz please......

Yummy!!! Who doesn't love Mac-n-chz????? I know I do and so does my family. This is my great grandmother's (Myrtle Spangler) recipe. She will soon be turning 95. although I have not seen her in many years she is still a big part of our life. I was lucky enough a few years back to receive a cookbook made from my mother complied with favorites of her and my grandparents. This recipe happens to be one of them. My great grandmother had 16 children. My grandfather(my mom's dad) was her her first born his name was Jack whom I named my first son after. I always thought it was such a Man's man name if you know what I mean a big strong name. I love to hear all the stories my mom tells me about staying with my great granny. She is such a wonderful and spritual woman and I loved listening to her. growing up as a small child and visiting her was great because that meant that you would not only visit her but someone else in the Spangler clan would also be there. Her kitchen always smelled like fresh homemade bread or pie and it was filled with hope, love and joy.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese
________________________________

1/2 lb. pasta
1/2 lb. grated cheese
2 eggs
1 T butter
1 T flour
salt and pepper to taste
and milk

Cook pasta according to package directions. Butter casserole dish and layer pasta and cheese in dish
dot with butter sprinkle with salt, pepper and flour. beat eggs well and pour over pasta add milk till it comes juts to the top. bake for 1 hour at 350. add more cheese to the top. I added bread crumbs too.

An answered prayer...

Boy, what a weekend. I spent most of it in the bed with a head cold. i would rather be sick than any of my babies. Last week Chace had a fever and complained he didnt feel the best. I prayed over and him and prayed over him asking God to let me be sick and Chace be better. My prayer worked. I feel miserable but I will get through it and God knew that when he answered my prayer. Above you can see a few more challenges that I had completed at the My Scraps & More crop. the first one of Ayla
is was a sketch. I have really enjoyed the new friends I have made over there. Well we have a new chorus member in the House. Jack came home last week and was super excited because he tried out to be part of his school choir and he made it. His school is really small and they only have choir and jump rope team. We were very proud of him They do alot of traveling and concerts have a uniform to boot. Of course my head starts spinning $$$$. but on no, it's not about the Money, Money, Money
it's about the priceless memories he will have and the pictures I get to take. Everything these days have a Price Tag. First its was the new Volleyball shoes, hair ribbons for each game,embrodiered backpack, Football fees, cleats, now chorus and next will be soccer....but we do it to keep our kids active and healthy and yeah, of course we love the concession stands!!!!

Tennessee Tech Night...

On August 24th my husband along with Pepsi hosted TTU night at his Food Lion store. I had the job of making 30 footballs with ribbon. Easy Peasy. While I was in Hobby Lobby I noticed they had cupcake toppers. I bought them and took out the toothpick and inserted curly ribbon and walah!!!
All the employees wore them. Food Lion/Pepsi gave out 500 hotdogs, drink and chips to all whoo showed up in support of the Eagles. They also gave out free passes to the football games. At his store they made a TTU display out of drinks. although my husband was not there due to being at a conference in N.C. I took pictures of his asst. managers and the Pepsi guy. It was a great turn out and way to get involved with the community.

Chocolate Peanut butter Surprise Cookies

So, I cam across this delicious recipe for this chocolate cookie. I knew I just had to make this. Enjoy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies
Sweet Pea's Kitchen

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus more for rolling)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
3/4 cup powdered sugar

1. Preheat oven to 375º F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together sugars, butter and 1/4 cup of peanut butter until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and egg, beating to combine. Stir in the flour mixture and stir to combine, blending well. Set aside.

4. In a medium bowl, mix together powdered sugar and remaining 3/4 cup of peanut butter until smooth.

5. Pull off a heaping tablespoon of cookie dough and flatten with your hands. Take about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter mixture and place it in the center of the chocolate dough. Wrap the chocolate dough around the peanut butter center, pressing to seal. Roll the cookie into a ball and roll the cookie in the sugar. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet 2 inches apart. Using the bottom of a glass, flatten each cookie to about a 1/2 inch thickness.

6. Bake in preheated oven for 7 to 9 minutes. Let stand on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then remove to a wire rack

Wow! What a weekend. Ayla had a volleyball tournament this weekend so she had to miss the first home football game. All the girls were not too happy. Last week she had a game everyday except Wednesday and she has another one tonight and tomorrow. She loves it though. Jack had a football
game on Saturday and lost yest again. The poor boys only have 3 more to go. He did however get his first Touchdown. very proud of him. I had to run to Hobby Lobby this weekend an get some more material to make sparkly headbands for some of the girls on Ayla's team. The vehicles managed to get washed along with a ton of laundry. I tell you I just don't undertsand how there is always a pile. I do about 2 laods a day and just when i think I have it completed Wham! They bring me more. I did manage to get a ton of scrapping done over the weekend. Over at My Scraps & More they had a big
crop with 16 challenges. I think I have about 3 more to go. The DT over there gave out some amazing challenges. The Ole layout is based from the July Newsletter sketch. It is on of my favorites of Jack right now. The Toys layout had to have the word Summer in it.

T-shirt belt and headband...

This was a fun project. I did however have to do it a few times to get what I wanted.

I found the directions and everything from here

I think hers turned out better than mine. At first I started out with the girls old shirts

and Ayla wanted a multi colored one.

I don't think it turned out the best but it will work. Because the shirts had seems.

I knew I needed an old t-shirt without seems.

Ayla also wanted a black one. I completed and added bling to it.

That took me about 2 hours to add. I will get a pic of that later.

So then I made Ashley's with an old blue t-shirt and it came out

perfect.

Grilled Asparagus and Almonds...

This is one of my favorites to eat.

Simple, easy and delish.

Just 4 little ingredients

Asparagus

Olive Oil

Garlic

Almonds

Of course you break of the ends of your Asparagus

I toss them in a bowl with garlic and EVOO

then add to the grill pan and toss in a few almonds. I also shave almond into the grill pan.

Toss occasionally until think they are done. My family likes them to be carmelized or burnt like

it gives them great flavor then serve.

Of Course when we were looking to buy a new house we had to have a craft/scrap room so when my husband saw this room with shelving he knew I would want it. It is my space to get away and create
often times the whole family ends up in here with me.

The Kitchen is my throne. I love to cook and bake all the time. I try a new recipe every week on my family. It is a gathering place for us all. The Kitchen is a place where tears and laughter are shed. A humble place. I am very fortunate to have my family at the dinner table everynight. Whether we are at a ball game or work. The family is always home for Dinner.

Last but not least is my Small little living room. I love to sit in their and read and watch my DVR'd shows/movies. all though we have a huge Bonus Room and I mean huge. The family often gathers inthe smaller room. I guess
we all like the closeness of one another's company.

So it seems as though every Saturday at Jack's football game Chace has got to have a Green Watermelon Ring Pop. Be cause he syas it is his favorite color GREEN and his favorite flavor watermelon. Thank gosh they have a great statsh of them because he would probably be rolling around on the ground. Who could resist him having a smile on his face and a much enjoyed football game.

Lime Chicken Tacos...

Yummy is all that I can say. I have never been that big into Lime anything but I thought I would give it a try. I found the recipe at Chef n Training. It was super simple and easy. I forgot to take a picture of
mine so I am using hers. I also made up some Guacamole the kids always love that.

Lime Chicken Tacos:

· 1-1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

3 Tbsp lime juice

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 cup frozen corn

1 cup chunky salsa

12 soft tortilla shells

lettuce, sour cream and cheese are optional

Place chicken in crock pot with lime juice and chili powder let cook for 4-6 hours until tender

Shred chicken and replace back in crock pot add corn and salsa continue to cook for an additional 30 minutes.

Serve on tortilla shell with options.

Enjoy we did!

Cracker Cookie Recipe...

So Friday Chace and I decided to make one of our favorite cookies. We love to make them at Christmas time and give them out. They are so super quick and easy.

You will need 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 sleeve of crackers and 2 cups of chocolate chips

Bring the butter and sugar to a boil (about 3 minutes) it should be creamy like

Line your jelly roll pan with foil

Then place your crackers salt side down

Pour your sugar/butter mixture over the top of crackers and spread

Place into oven for 5 minutes on 325 until bubbly and brown

spread chocolate chips over crackers and spread till even

Place into Fridge until completly cool

Make sure you lick off all the chocolate

Peel back foil and break into pieces

Enjoy!!!!

I like to place mine in the freezer they are great when they are harder.

Necktie Wreath...

So, my husband has had to wear a tie everyday at work for 25 years until this past month. I decided to make a wreath using his neckties and tie it off with the Famous Food Lion tie. It was super easy.

You will need 15-16 ties give or take depending on the size wire wreath you buy.
I cut them to about 13 inches from the bottom then started wrapping them and overlapping
just a tad. I used hot glue to adhere the tie together then use the Food Lion tie to make a bow. It took no time at all. I did however dislike cutting some really expensive ties. I loved the end result.

Just a few more layouts that I have completed. the first 2 where done with Echo Park. Their paper is so addicting. The past couple of days I have found some lovely new blogs. They are more your DIY type of blogs. Which I totally love. You can check some of them out on my side bar. This is more along the line of what I love to do. So, I guess I will start capturing all the little ideas and crafy projects that I do around the house on camera and start sharing with all of you. Instead of just papercrafting and reading. I love cooking, baking and making trash to treasure so let the GAME begin.

PS. I am super excited that NFL Football has started.

A Busy week....

It has been a bit busy around the Jones' household. Busy with Football games, school,

Volleyball Play Days and Homework. Some days I feel as though I am pulled in a million

different directions. I know I sometimes complain but I would not have it any other way. God has truly blessed me with wonderful children and husband. Kim was on vacation again last week so we spent alot of time around the house doing odds and ends. We have enjoyed Jack's Upward flag football

it is alot of fun to watch those boys although the 90+ heat is not fun. On Saturday Ayla had a Volleyball playday where 12 teams came to duke it out and show each other what to expect this season. I think her team is going to do very well. Ashley on the other hand is still holding out for Basketball and of course hanging with her friends and her little boyfriend. Chace is well your typical 3 year old full of energy keeping me on my toes. I took a picture of my Ferns this morning to share because I cannot believe how HUGE they have gotten. I just love them.

Enjoy the layout I did of Chace he loves getting his picture taken and always loves to carry a camera.

I am hoping in the next month or two to open an Etsy shop. I am still working on things so stay tuned.

To get rid of this massive heat wave. Thought I would share a couple of layouts of the kids in the snow and then some today. Yesterday got off to a great start for the school year. I even made everyone a great breakfast and surprised them all with a Homemade from scratch Chocolate and cake and frosting. Ever since I have moved to TN and now stay home. I tend to bake and cook alot. No one seems to really mind at all Except myabe our "tummy's". Tomorrow I have a Dr's appointment just for a checkup. I just recently hit the ripe age of 39 and figured I better make myself an appointment. Not that there is anything really wrong or anything. I just ahve not had a Physical since ummmm.....
about the age of 14 or so. Sure, I have had 4 babies and had my gall bladder out but I have never been to a REAL Dr. I guess some of you could say I have a great immune system. Sure I have gotten the occasional cold and virus but nothing to write home about. I am a bit nervous and hope everything is a o.k. So if any of you out there want to keep me in your prayers tomorrow it would be much appreciated. Hope you enjoy looking at the Layouts I posted. I am tryin to keep myself busy.

Last day of Summer Break...

So Summer is coming to a close in the Jones household. We did not take a big vacation this year since we moved into a new house. We did however have fun furnishing it. We did visit Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville and planted a garden. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and on the slip n slide. Each place we visited of course we ended up hitting every Target and or shopping mall. I think our favorite has to be in Mt. Juilet. Anyhow I have a ton to scrap now. To each of my children Ayla I am proud of you for making the Varsity Volleyball team once again you are an awesome player. Ashley cannot wait for Basketball season, Jack can't wait till your first Football game this weekend and Chace I am so happy to get to stay home with you yet another year. I love you all so much!

I have not updated my blog too much do to so much craziness going on aorunf here since our move to Cookeville. Now, the kids are getting ready to start school again next week. Boy, has the time flown. I have met a few new friends at the local scrapbook store and really enjoy going there when I can. I have neglected my online forums due to so much going on around here but hopefully I will get more time once the kids are back in school.

The Lightkeeper's Ball

I received the Lightkeeper's Ball in the mail right after I moved to our new house. It took me a bit longer to get it read but I managed to read the book. It was a great book. At the time that I requested the book I did not realize that it was the third in the series. The book was very intense and hard to put down at times. Olivia Stewart has just found out that her sister, Eleanor, has died, and she suspects foul play. She travels to California under a different name to try to find her sisters killer. Her first suspect is her sister's fiance, Harrison. She behaves very rudely to him at first, until she gets to know him better and convinces herself that he could not have killed her sister. The two begin to fall in love, but he still does not know her true identity. In the mean time, several attempts have been made to kill Olivia.
Both of the main characters were very likeable, and I liked how Olivia was not a believer, but was able to to learn more of God from Harrison. A man who is strong in his faith is the most attractive kind of man. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am anxious to find more of her books.

Eat your peas “Faithfully” Simple truths and happy insights! by Cheryl Karpen. I reeived this book today and as soon as I opened it I could not put it down.This book is wonderfully written. It is full of wonderful inspiring quotes that have to do with everyday life. I loved how the quotes had an additional bible verse that went with it. This book would make for a great gift to give to a best friend or anyone who needs an extra nudge to let them know that they are loved. I strongly recommend this book and cannot wait to read more Eat your Peas books. Just remember with faith in God, anything is possible. Left at the Alter~Book Review~

Left at the Altar by Kimberley Kennedy. This book was a wonderfully heartfelt book written by Kimberley's own rejection. Kimberley had everything going for her big time news Anchor position and ready to marry the love of her life. Then to have it all come crumbling down right before she said I do. It took months before she realized after her terrible heartbreak that there is life again. In this book you will find many compelling stories of rejection and fear of being lonely and unloved by others who have been in a similar situation. Many think that being left at the altar can be life shattering but Kimberley guides and shows us all about hope, healing and forgiveness. Kimberley uses Bible verses as a way to show women how a relationship with Christ should be the central matter in their lives. I really enjoyed how honest and real she was in the telling of her story, and I found myself not wanting to put the book down.

Eager to Learn

This week at My Paper Tree House we have a new Challenge: Something New

"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?" - Isaiah 43:19

Let's start with a little glimpse back in history to see God at work changing hearts and lives. There are times in history when God chooses to change the course and direction of a nation in order to accomplish His purposes. It has been 150 years since America experienced what has been called the Third Great Awakening. During a period of two years (1857-59), anywhere from 500,000 to 1,000,000 individuals were added to the church, and at that point 50,000 people were coming to Christ every week! This work of God could be considered one of those rare moments in history when God awakened an almost spiritually camatose church in order to do a "new thing".

We believe America is ripe for another great movement of God. The family has never been more vulnerable; this nation has never seen such a rapid period of moral decline; there are more "fatherless" children, a higher divorce rate, and fewer mothers at home to invest in their children's lives than at any point in our nation's history.

Our nation has succumbed to destructive ways of thinking and living that have struck a blow to the foundation of our society. Could it be that God is beginning to put in place the components necessary for Him to do a new work, to accomplish a spiritual revolution among women that will affect relationships, homes, churches, and ultimately our nation?

It is natural to fear change, to be cautious of a "new" way of thinking. But are you willing to consider that there may be some things that need to be changed, not only in our nation, not only in your friends' lives, but in your own heart? This could be the time that God wants to do a new work in your life!

Would you humbly ask the Lord if there are areas where change is needed in your life? As we individually respond to the work of the Spirit of God, as we line up our lives under the authority of His Word, the impact of our obedience may grow into a powerful rushing wind that will sweep across our nation, birthing a "new thing"!

Take Time to Reflect:

Isaiah 43 is filled with comforting reassurances of God's unfailing commitment to His people. Although as a nation Israel had repeatedly turned from Him and encountered His judgment, He was giving His people the promise of a "new work". As you read through the closing verses of this chapter, see what parallels you can find with our nation's spiritual condition and also with your own spiritual condition. Ask God to perform the necessary heart preparation in order for you to receive the "new thing" that He desires to accomplish in your life.

I really hope you would join us in this journey of allowing God to take over our world... :)

This was the first time I have read a book by Jenny B. Jones and let me tell you I loved it. The book is about a young, beautiful and kind hearted girl named Lucy Wiltshire who runs a home for children who have been left behind after completing the foster care program. Lucy has put her heart and soul into Saving Grace helping girls get on their feet; however her funds are dwindling down fast and her biggest supporter Sinclair Hotels has just cut her off. Lucy is in desperate need of funding for her girls or Saving Grace will be shut down. Lucy runs into an old schoolmate Alex Sinclair a former NFL player who was once called the "Playboy" and really has no interest in him until he proposes a deal with her to fund Saving Grace as long as she proved worthy enough to be his faux fiancé in order to win his place in Congress. The only thing was Lucy never ever intended to fall deeply madly in love with Alex Sinclair.
I thoroughly enjoyed falling in love with both Lucy and Alex through their whirlwind of a romance. It was so great to read a book about love, grace and forgiveness.

I just love this picture of Chace. It was taken right before we moved to TN. I decided to use it for the Bleach challenge over at SOS. I just took a papetowel and dabbed it in bleach and ran it all around the edges of the bazzill. I love how it turned out.

I figured out that I am significant (meaningful). I am his child and I do not need to shy or back away and feel like I am alone or not loved, because I am.

Paper Therapy Challenge Day....

Today is Monday and with that it is Paper Therapy's weekly Challenge. This week we had to use this skecth. I turned mine just a bit and used the wonderful papers and my new SU stamps.

1.10.11~We don't want to be women who hear the truth but seldom act in faith to approproiate it for our lives. We don't want to be forever grappling with doubt, fear insecurity, and uncertainity. We want to live life on purpose and with purpose.~

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We got more fluffy white snow here in TN so the kids were out of school again yesterday. I keep telling myself then need to have year round school

so they don't have to make up for all the winter snow. I made this card for the Sister Hood Scraps card challenge. I had to use chipboard, so I had these silver chipboard starts that I used.

1.9.11Lord, i realize I don't know how to pray as I need to, not as often as I want to, but I invite You, Holy Spirit, to pray through me. Help me in my weakness. Teach me the things I don't know about You.~
